Who We Are

In partnership with Truckee Meadows Birth Network, The Cloth Diaper Project was founded in 2016. The Cloth Diaper Project is a cloth diaper lending program for families in need.  This project is a labor of love, run by two local moms in Reno, NV. Laurie and Stephanie collect donations, sanitize diapers, process applications, communicate with families and create diaper care packages.

Our mission is to reduce diaper need in our community and to make cloth diapers accessible to Northern Nevadan families in need. Our program seeks to help families in need thrive by alleviating the cost of diapering, so that families can use these funds towards other basic essentials, including food, utilities and medical expenses.

Why cloth diapers?
Diapers are a necessity and families should not have to choose between diapers and other basic needs. Access to a supply of cloth diapers can improve children's health with frequent diaper changes. Babies who wear dirty diapers for too long are prone to rashes and infections. Additionally, cloth diapers can decrease environmental problems, including consumption of non-renewable resources and landfill waste caused by disposable diapers.
